About
Know what was checked before you pay
CheckInn lists homes to buy, rent and short-let across Nigeria. The problem we exist for is familiar: listings that do not exist, agents who add a cut at every link, and asking prices nobody ever paid. So every listing on CheckInn carries a record of what we checked and what we have not checked yet.
How verification works: The Checklist
Each listing shows a Checklist. A row only appears where the check can apply to that listing.
- Identity. Every lister gives us their NIN or BVN, which we check with the government record before their first listing goes live. No exceptions.
- CAC. Agency listings show whether the agency's registration was confirmed on the Corporate Affairs Commission register.
- Bank acc. match. On short-lets from individual hosts, whether the bank account we pay is in the same name as the ID they verified with.
- Inspection and documents. A CheckInn inspection of the property, and for homes for sale, a check of the title documents. You can request either from the listing.
- Guest reviewed. On short-lets, whether a guest who actually stayed has left a review. Only guests with a finished, paid stay can review.
“Not yet checked” means exactly that. It is not a warning about the listing, and it is not hidden.
Before anything goes live
No listing appears in search until someone at CheckInn has approved it. Short-lets need at least five photos and a payout account before they can go live.
Short-let payments
Guests pay CheckInn through Paystack, not the host directly. Cancel up to 48 hours before check-in for a full refund. We pay the host their share only after that window closes.
